Hand Rankings

In poker games, the royal flush is considered the strongest hand, while the high card is considered the least powerful.

Variants of Poker on Stake

Texas Hold’em

The goal of Texas Hold'em is to form the best possible five-card poker hand by using a combination of two hole cards (dealt to the player) and five community cards (dealt face up on the table). Players can use all five community cards, no hole cards, or a mix of both to create their strongest hand.

  • Hole Cards: The two cards dealt to each player at the start.

  • Community Cards (Board Cards): The five cards dealt face-up on the table.

  • Players compete to form a higher-ranking hand than the others, with the winner being the player holding the best five-card hand according to traditional hand rankings.

Omaha

Omaha follows the same basic rules as Texas Hold'em, but with a twist in the number of hole cards dealt.

  • Hole Cards: In regular Omaha each player is dealt four cards face down. In 5-card Omaha, each player is dealt five cards face down.

  • Players must use exactly two hole cards and three community cards to form their best five-card hand.

The player with the best hand, or the last player remaining after others fold, wins the pot. The same hand ranking system as Texas Hold'em applies here.

Pineapple Poker

Pineapple is a variation of Texas Hold'em, with a key difference in the number of hole cards dealt and when players must discard a card.

  • Hole Cards: Players are initially dealt three cards instead of two.

  • Players keep all three hole cards during the pre-flop and flop betting rounds.

  • Before the turn card is dealt, each player must discard one card from their hand, leaving them with two cards to play.

Other than the unique discarding rule, all other rules and betting structures are identical to Texas Hold'em.
